Ciaran Carey

Research Engineer

Ciaran joined ROD-Is in 2015 following completion of his PhD on the assessment of Bridge Loading and Safety using dynamic measurements during which he assessed the individual components of vehicle bridge interaction models. He is highly proficient in the use of Matlab as a tool for mathematical modelling and analysis. Since joining ROD-IS, Ciaran has assisted on the EU funded RAIN project and the CEDR Harmony project. He is also the lead ROD-IS researcher in the CEDR funded PREMiUM project, where ROD-IS are developing objective tools to provide a network level indication of the performance of road assets, the output of which will be a set of performance indicators which will allow the condition of road equipment assets to be evaluated based on a simple dimensionless scale, and a global, or overall indicator of road equipment condition..
